Adoptive Class

Adoptees:

- When the class a student is adopted into has TechArts the adoptee goes with their adopted class to  TechArts, with work to do. They will not take part in the TechArts programme of their adopted class unless the specialist teacher requires them to do so.

- When the class a student is adopted into has Teaming the adoptee goes to the class that their adopted teacher takes (PE with Mr Ahie). The adoptee is expected to take work to do, although they may be allowed to join in the teaming programme (usually PE) at the discretion of the teacher.

- If a student is adopted out and they are timetabled to go to TechArts, they go. This should be indicated on the whiteboard in the morning, although it is also polite for you to let you to let your adoptive teacher know.

- If a student is adopted out and they are timetabled to go to Teaming, it is at the discretion of their Team Leader as to whether or not this programme will continue, (and should be made clear through a note on the whiteboard in the morning). If the Team Leader cancels Teaming, then the adopted students stay in their adopted class.

- The daily timetable is on the whiteboard and outside the class, so that if adoptees arrive at the class and I am not there, you know where to look, to find out where I am. I will show students where they will sit and what to do with their bags.

- When teachers know that their class is going to be adopted out in advance, then they may give the teachers your work.

- Always take a book to read also.

Point of clarification for everyone:

When students are adopted out for the day they do not return to their class at all that day. They can come back to their adopted class the next morning and collect their tote tray. For security and safety reasons, when a class is adopted out their class will be locked for the day.

Likewise students that are adopted during block 3, stay with their class for lunch eating.
