Exploration and Discovery Summative Task



Now it’s your turn. Choose one exploration or discovery to study in further detail. Examples: this could be a Space Exploration, Land Exploration, or Sea Exploration from any time in history or even in present times. You may present this project as a poster, PowerPoint, a booklet or in any other format of your choice. This project should include all aspects from the unit of inquiry so far including the central idea, lines of inquiry and key concepts. Make sure you select an explorer or expedition that you find interesting and one that you would like to find out more about.

  • What did they explore/discover?
  • What are the positive/negative effects of this exploration?

Where
  • Where did the exploration take place?

When
  • When did this discovery/exploration take place?

Why
  • Why did they explore?

How (change, causation)
  • How did this discovery affect lives at the time?
  • How does their discovery impact our lives today?

Mechanics
  • Correct spelling and information

Organisation
(creativity)
  • Project is easy to follow
  • Headings are clear and easy to identify
  • Catches viewer’s attention
  • Images or diagrams are used where appropriate

Information
  • A bibliography is used to identify information sources used (included pictures and diagrams)
